Took my daughter in the bus fron Southampton to university in Bristol to start her second year. Then off to Tiverton down the M5 . Camping now.
Seems quite stable temperatures at 68-70mph oil sat at 112C cylinder head casting at 126C.

Went outside around 2000-2100 put the DSLR on a tripod and took some photos of the sky. Its cold...

Thats a picture of the screen on the camera showing 120 seconds at f/3 5, ASA 400.

  6. Fitted new 5 pin relay and added additional feed so main beam now flashes, fixed horn, changed oil and filter, took steering box off, cleaned it, replaced input seal and topped up with oil and refitted. :) Not a bad day .

Seeung that I dunno why I went to Devon this weekend . Sitting in the bus on a windy hill top near Hartland Point its mostly stopped raining horizontally now. Too windy to put up a wind break. But at least it is not as cold tonight.

  10. Finally got my V5C changed to historic!

After being told by the DVLA, nothing had been received, I put a complaint in to the Post Office then went away to VW Action and Busfest for 11 days, on my return I'd received a new V5C still showing the old tax class.

So today I went to a different Post Office to try again, this time sent it Special delivery, then went home and when checking my post found another V5C had been sent but this time showing Historic tax class.

  14. Took advantage of the fact it wasn't raining for the first time in weeks and touched up some rusty bits. A rather large hole appeared in the rear off side panel at the bottom whilst I was sanding, so had to do a bit of filling there... gotta get these things done before winter though. Hopefully on Monday my order from Bilt Hamber will arrive and I can top up the cavity wax and do some spraying underneath too :)

  15. Top stuff

Did you go for the tick stuff to go underneath?

  16. I've bought the Underbody Protection Kit which contains 2 x Dynax s50 1 x Dynax UC 1 x Dynax UB and 1 x Surfex cleaner.

Much of my underbody has lots of Waxoyl on it still but there are bits now needing attention and I liked the Dynax S50 so want to try these other products in the Dynax range...:)

Noisy couple of jobs today so had to wait until a civilised hour.

I'm pretty sure my crew cab has had a Diesel engine in it at some point of its life. Anyway today I cut out the last of the non VW bracketery in the engine bay.

The second job was tricky. I don't have an engine lid at the moment. The 4 bolts that hold the hinges were all snapped of flush. I started to drill these out but one by one they just started spinning. I had to resort to cutting out a slot behind them. I managed to pull out the little brackets with the captive nuts on.

Refitted new hinges and nyloc nuts. Just a little tack weld and the jobs a goodun.
