  1. Yes indeed by a fence. I try and leave as much space as I can to get the air circulation but can only be so far from the fence or I can't get my car next to it

  2. Inertia seat belts fitted .... why oh why don't the suppliers actually check these things fit straight off ... the top most mounting clip fouls the door seam and doesn't twist freely unless you rummage through your tins of bolts to find extra spacers !!

  3. Mine did the same, I didn't have any spacers and had to buy some:mad:

  4. Fitted some new headlamp bulbs due to the failure of one last night - have gone for these:

for some reason the bulbs that were fitted previously were the old globe type which really lit no more than a candle - obviously someone bought the wrong ones previously as I found an old H4 halogen bulb under the drivers seat which I'm guessing was fitted some years ago before the globe ones were installed as a pair. Anyway, I now have nice bright headlights.

  5. Think i've now got everything done for the MOT on thursday. :)

Blowing a gale so decided not to chance opening the gates to turn it round as last time i did it smashed into the corner of my caravelles bumper.

  6. Pulled the wiring plug off the back of the ignition switch and test fitted a new one. After the end of last summer struggling to start it now fires every time. Just got to find time to get the column out and install if properly.

  7. Repaired the electric choke terminal refitted them and timed them.
Put some fuel in the tank and started Tilly up.
She fired first time and that is two months without starting her.
Long way to go brakes next

Think you should do all of it ...it will want you to go underneath your bus ...even more to fix lots of very wrong things .;)

This has started to happen to me. What’s the fix?

Turn the key, nothing try again and starter motor engages and fires.

  11. I had this and replaced the ignition swicth. Cost at least £7

  12. Cupboards nearly done ... Formica top glued and edges routered ... doors / latches on

Just the Devon aluminium trim to wrestle with and then the protective cover can come off and in the bus it goes

Are the new ignition switches good quality?

  19. Yep, hasn't broken yet, mine is a 79 so maybe different to earlier ones. But they were used in ignitions all the way up to MK4 golfs so as late as 2003

There are several switch manufacturers and they’re not all good. One I bought fell apart as it came out of the box, and it wasn’t even from JK.
The Febi Bilstein 26652 has contacts that are not usually used but will fit, and work and it won’t fall apart.
