  1. What's that silver catch halfway up the glass, Mark?

I've been waiting for someone to ask that. Some sort of extra/replacement locking mechanism that must have been put on in South Africa. I'd love to get a matching one for the passenger side.

  3. Odd (but handy - the knobbly latch things aren’t terribly secure).

  4. Now I've got extra quarterlight catch envy. The bobble latch on my passenger side is very...flaccid.

    Interesting reading!

Reading Zed's comments on the quality of the three he had it reminded me that ours isn't that great.

Looks nice & sounds nice, however, it blows from one of the flanges intermittently as though the nuts work loose from time to time but when you tighten them, they are tight. New gaskets sort it for a while then it goes back to its intermittent self

I guess I ought seal it with exhaust putty or whatever you call it!

  8. Count yourself lucky, my partner broke my bobble completely off!

You are using a bit of string to help the seal like a windscreen ?
Or you actually have a panel van conversion and the cutout is wrong...

My bus tried today to do its "breakdown before Techenders so I have to fix it by taking it to pieces to get there" . .

Following a spirited drive on a bumpy country lane, the primary idle jet partially blocked so it died at idle running ultra lean at 600 rpm. Throttle feathering got it home.

Carb out, jet now blown through, back to normal.

Worrying about its revenge tomorrow... still time to drop the engine and put it back tomorrow evening...( if you call 4 in the morning Friday as a part of Thursday)
