I was going to work on this for someone else but he wanted it doing yesterday so he asked me if I wanted to buy it.

It's a Cali import, in really good nick, can't believe how good compared to a uk bus.

You get the idea, it's a 7/8 seater kombi with factory metal sliding roof, although rear seats are missing. I've got all glass inc opening 1/4 lights and sliding side windows and most of the original cards [IMG]

It came with an unfitted 1600 but

    Six rib box and
    [IMG]
Ecu suggest it should be 2.0FI, which it will go back to.

When I dragged it out of its storage I had a chat with the farmer and after taking it home for 6 weeks I ended up taking it back again to its new workshop

So now it's ensconced in its new home I can get on with it
First job free off the back brakes to make it easier to roll about

Stripped down without too much of a fight, ordered new shoes and cylinders.
Front panel is solid but the wipers have been bashed in a bit,
    [IMG]
Had a bit of a bash at them

Nearly there but I could do with a set of proper dollys, access isn't easy at the back of them!

Have you got any pics of the sunroof & mechanism. I've never seen one in the flesh!

  8. Good luck @Flakey
I just had to replace both the right and left cables of my sunroof, £145 per cable

  9. Its hard to explain isent ,any rust just wipes away and its solid metal underneath unlike UK rust that's rotten all the way through.

Lovely easy job removing the driveshafts when the engines out

Both inner boots are looking ok, original I think, reluctant to replace just for the sake of it knowing the quality of new rubber.
I do love my free parts washer

  19. Just wondered, what fluid do you use in your parts washer?
    Cheers
    Andy

  20. I'm doing my cv joints at the moment
It's a messy job that would be made a lot easier with a parts washer.
I'm reusing my old cv boots for now
The quality of rubber is shocking at the moment
So I may upgrade to polyurethane boots when mine do give up the ghost.
That bus looks in decent nick underneath
