So today I finished off the fuel hoses, stuck a battery on it and the horn sounded and it popped a fuse on 11.
Checked out the mess that was the fuse box and it was all over the place

Spent an hour sorting it out till I finally got ign and oil lights and power where it was needed.
Spun it over for a few mins then popped a gallon of fuel in and it fired up straight away never doubted it would but nice anyway .
Just waiting for an accelerator cable to arrive tomorrow then I can move it round without pushing .
What exactly is this thing interrupting the speedo cable? US import by the way![IMG]
    Painted the cab floor

That box on the speedo is a mechanical timer that puts the yellow emission light on the dash when it’s time to get some kind of US test done

Done my head in once when it started ticking on my way to the Lakes. Took a while to sus what it was. A few drops of oil and it’s been ok for years now.

  10. The box is designed to come on at set intervals of 3000 miles and 6000 miles, 3000 to change the egr filter and 6000 to check the Cat.

All not needed in the UK I replaced mine with a normal Speedo cable.

Good choice with the black bumpers, they do go with the main body colour, we did Majors like that before Christmas :D

  16. Rebuilt, rerubbered and refitted all the 1/4 lights, my fingers hurt !

Because it was a seven seater it had headlining trim all round the windows, this had been removed so it was either clean all the glue off or retrim, went for retrim with more modern softer material.
All the lights are back in and working, waiting for a wiper/washer stalk then I can do the final wiring check before putting the screen back in and dash top on.
Sunroof cable should arrive tomorrow then it’s just seat belts and the thorny issue of what wheels and tyres!
I’m assuming it needs an MOT even though it’s a 76 to be able to get it registered?

Trying to be disciplined and only do an hour ish per day on it and prioritise doing paid work

Some bits will need tensioning when it gets bolted in .

Last job before putting the screen back in and the dash top on was to get the washers working, original pressure tubes don’t seem to be available so I stripped a schrader valve out of one of the many spare wheels I’ve got and managed to shove it most of the way down a bit of rubber tube!
    It works
