so we’ve had this Husqvarna self propelled mower for 11 years it’s got a Honda 160 engine and will always start first pull, even after its winter hibernation! It’s been a great mower but today it broke. The drive stopped working. It’s a heavy mower to push without drive and our garden is pretty big and sloping. So I get the spanner’s out. I find the drive cable is broken, I look on tinterweb and it’s a 43 quid part!!! What! £43 plus vat and post for a bicycle brake cable! So rummage in the garage results in the old throttle cable from our camper, a wiring crimp to join to the old cable and our lawn is nicely trimmed again! Whoop! Whoop! Cost of repair...nothing! Hurray for not throwing anything away!
My bay has saved me from buying a new car for about 4 years now. And the £4600 repair bill last year is still less than another car.
My bay ownership has saved me having another car for about 20 years. I’ve had two in that time. One was nicked , so the insurance paid for the next, in a round about way. In the same time my sisters had about 7 cars.
Blimey some one else with a Husqvarna mower. Bought mine for £15 off ebay as it had a split fuel tank. Tank was cracked above the fuel level, so fixed it with P40 and it's been superb. Starts first pull of the cord no matter how long and neglected its been.
We’re at that point now...the missus has a rather lovely A3 Quattro tdi which cost me a fortune a couple of years ago but the mileage is creeping up and Audi proper stitch us up on servicing. The school run takes its toll too with little marks here and there. BUT it’s amazing on fuel, is pretty rapid and is super comfortable. So I’ve been thinking of replacing with a T25 that I don’t have to plug a computer into to fix and shouldn’t drop like a stone in value if I keep the rust at bay....
Best mower I’ve had. Can’t fault it! The wheels have fallen off a few times but nothing that can’t be fixed with sticky tape and string...
