Type 4 GRP under tins

Are these the tins that go under the push rods? If so how important are they? I have j tubes on a cj code engine

 

They are important enough to have been designed and fitted originally, you should fit them ideally

I’ve been running a set of Paul’s US under tins for a few months now. My bus is my daily plus I’ve done some long 8 hour+ near non stop runs.
They look as fresh as delivery day! The fit was easy and psychologically just knowing the bus is as it should be (save I’ve not actually got a thermostat fitted) makes me feel better.
I’m really pleased with them and would recommend them.
