I’ll have to check the cost of silicone, did get a chance yesterday as working on my supercharger project. The mold would only cost a few quid as would be laser cut from 3 sheets. I’d imagine the issue with water cutting or laser cutting from sheet is the waste value. I’d be interested in getting a pair with you in the meantime though
If I hadn’t already bought them from C&C months ago I probably would take the chance and for C&C to sell them for about £10 each they probably pay less than £4 to their German supplier so your quote looks competitive. Is it a UK manufacturer? Why white? While there are no colour codes as such white is often Nitrile Buna-N and used in the food industry. Red is usually silicone but either material would be acceptable for the rocker cover application.
I will query the colour , yes UK man ..the killer as always is the post to me @£18 BELOW is the quote ....... Mega interested in your charger project ....I need pics and what its going on ......have you seen the guy on VZI sticking one one his type 1 bug project ..... Mine is finished sat in the middle of my garage floor while I decide what to do with it ......
I haven’t seen it but I imagine I’m doing something similar using an aisin 500 charger. I’ve done quite a few rojextes before, I did a supercharger for a Fiat 500 that was at the MPH show in London a few years back. I saw your supercharger thread, looked amazing, such a lovely job and if I could weld as well as you I’d be delighted
we still need a decent build thread to off set all the other Marmitee posts.....type 1 or 4 ? here http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=1546201&highlight=supercharged quite interesting ... I`m NOT sure about location in the wheel well but interesting none the less
Postage seems excessive....items aren't large or heavy......are they doing the EBay trick of ovepricing postage to artificially lower price of item.....where are they based?
based in Cornwall ...its a postage is charged regardless of size ...sounds about right its probably business tracked /signed for etc. same postage if I buy 100 .....
That seems very complex, I’m doing a type 1 engine but it will be a bolt up Kit, hoping for less than 1k.
Tracked postage by Hermes from Cornwall is about £3, by UPS about 6 . Royal Mail about £3 too. Unless your off mainland
yes I completely agree but that's what it is .... I ALSO FORGOT THE VAT UK Carriage and Packing: £18.00 (Payment for non-account holders is required before manufacture and can be made by BACS or Credit/Debit card) (We have no minimum order charge however all packages are charged at the same rate regardless of size) (All items are supplied with a tolerance of +/- 0.5mm)
The biggest part of the postage charge is the guys time to pack the box and arrange shipment – the transportation cost is relatively small.
Yes. The silicone will match that Gimp suit you tried to sell me. Even though I told you it wasn't my thing
