Advertised as being suitable for classic vehicles so am tempted. Has anyone used this and is it any good? http://unipartautostore.com/mineral-classic-20w50-5l-motor-oil-5-l.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI95GCsZDC2gIVCWYbCh0-2gDREAQYASABEgIjm_D_BwE
More to the point , is there any reason not to ?? It's only in there for 3000 miles and is probably far superior to anything offered ' back in the day ' ... Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
Yep, doesn't stay in long enough to do damage May give it a try and see how it goes and yes it is an old motor which has seen better days. Thanks for the responses
Us old engine peeps have prob had everything under the sun in our engines they are still going even with the polluted air that cools them
ATM have Halso 10/40 and it's begun leaking so may as well have some thicker oil in it.Won't stop it leaking but I think 10/40 may be a touch thin for my old un.
Tried Millers 30 sae mineral years ago, seemed too thin, handbook suggest mineral 20/50 and have been using Millers pistonease 20/50, for a couple of years and seems better.
20W/50 is great because when it makes the oil pressure so high on a cold morning that pipes pop off offboard oil coolers, it sits in a pile under the engine while you rush around finding the cat litter and the shovel to scoop it up... brilliant !
