I bloody well hate all the adds and trailers never mind the cost and the pick an mix prices ,anyone would think it's gold dust , Rant over
I gave it up.. People on phones, texting , eating their dinner, nachos, chips and burgers etc.. I bought a 100 inch screen ,hd projector, blue ray player, and a connection to the net... A great way to watch films, glad stow, documentaries, you tube proggs...
I gave up going years ago. Its expensive and why spend hours stuck in a closed place full of people coughing and spluttering and texting and eating and drinking and its not a sociable occasion. Better go down the pub and talk to people. and splash out on a home system and watch films in comfort.
Miserable sods, there’s no substitute for watching a good movie on the big screen, our local cinema is volunteer run in an old Sunday school building, no fast food outlets just a kiosk with a roller shutter door. Man takes your money, £3.50 on Sunday and Monday turns the lights off then runs the film, proper cinema seats screen and sound system though and all the latest films.
I still like our local reel cinema. We never had a cinema for years and had to travel miles. Then some local businessman opened a small one in a local factory complex and I love it. It was taken over by reel cinemas a while back, but it's still good.
I quite like the ads. I’d love to go to a classy little boutique place but our Cineworld is always too loud and too cold. And you can’t take a drink in. What’s wrong with these people? And...(I’m warming up) .. the bloody price of the crap nibbles! Disgusting popcorn, giant bags of sweets or ageing frankfurters at £75 each, nachos smothered in E numbers at £102. Nothing smaller than a gallon bucket of sugary, tartrazine-enhanced fizzy drink... Bandits. I smuggle in a thermos of sauvignon blanc on the odd occasions I go.
The local Picture Palace still shows this Very much tongue in cheek. There's a group of us go most Tuesday nights (Tightarse Tuesday as it's known ), catch up for a feed at the Jindabyne pub then off to the movies. They even have special prices for locals during winter.
