Just want to say to everyone - I am perfectly happy selling through a dealer, and believe it's the best way forward to sell my VW. The dealer seems very confident we will get a sale by spring so I'm very hopeful.
Love the advert. Especially the part: "New upholstery, bunting and curtains fitted summer 2015" New bunting is a massive selling point
Actually think I left a Silly Wizard CD in the player... Scotland finest folk band. Whoever buys the van is is for a treat
I think you're doing the right thing. People are happy to pay a premium to a dealer for a 3 month warrenty and the assumption the dealer won't want it coming back = hopefully it won't blow up on the way home. So you still get the same money, no stress, somewhere to store it and maybe the dealer will polish it up from time to time.
Just make sure they give you the money as soon as they sell it. Saw an episode of Watchdog the other month, whereby the dealer had sold some guys car and not told him for months, in the meantime the dealer was lowering the price that the guy would get, making excuses that it would not sell at the original price he had already sold it for.
Thanks for the advice. Luckily I know people who have sold through the dealer before. No problems to report. I have heard of some bad dealers out there though, some people are terrible.
