So brought my bus just over a year ago, knew the engine was cream crackered so set about stripping it down, was offered a "rebuilt" engine from someone I know, got it installed and found the exhaust studs cracked!!! 2 new replacement heads ordered and set up. Took it to TOMIE this year and we all loved it, afterwoods started to get a knocking at the bottom end! So much fir trusting a mate! Engines now out and awaiting a proper rebuild. Meanwhile a few bits of bodywork to be undertaken. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So, been a while. Have been updating on the f book page but as I have some time on my hands so decided to undertake the step replacement, this has led as it always does to a front end rebuild!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Onto the left (drivers side) needs step replacing, whilst cleaning everything up found a fair amount of rot around the A post and cab floor so looking to replace them as I go. Seat belt mount was first Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A little bit more, cleaned and painted the top of the chassis and fabricated a repair on the bottom of the tub to repair and old patch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes, want to grind them down again, hopefully the grinder can get in there ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Finally got the chance to get the other arch offered up and welded in, next, onto the floor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looking good that mate. Are they genuine arches? Look pretty nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks, not genuine arch’s they are schofields best quality ones. Really solid compared to some I’ve seen in the past. From memory they were about £220 each side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
After a lot of measuring I took the angle grinder to the front panel, I’ve pulled out a load of filler from previous owners repairs, Cleaned up all the spot welds, tomorrow I will look at cleaning up the A posts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
