We’ve had a campsite booked up Northumberland since well before Covid became an issue ... Obviously we remained optimistic about getting there and waited for the announcement we got this week .. the campsite have been dilly dallying about whether they’re opening up fully eventually telling us yesterday it was all systems go and they’d phone this morning to take the balance payment ... they didn’t , we’ve just phoned them and because we don’t have a shower - they’ve cancelled the booking ... my missus went up the wall so we’re looking around around for somewhere new - possibly up that way .. anyone know of anyone that’s not fannying about and are opening fully?
So they cancelled you because you'd have to use their shower, or that they think you're not going to be sanitary?
A friend of mine has been trying to book somewhere in the North East for a while now and Caravan Club told him unless you want to stay for one Wednesday night then they are all fully booked until Spetember! He has a shower in the caravan too.
And you can bet half these bookings won't even turn up. I'll be leaving it until late autumn soonest. Maybe next year when things have calmed down.
I`m not even trying to be honest Wherever you go it`ll be a bunfight , i`ve a couple of options but trying the smaller `Certified location` basic farm sites would be my starting point , i even joined the C&C club because most are members only - wasn`t a problem before but i think they`ll be tightening up . Hope you get sorted ...
I would and probably could manage but I don’t want to and the missus definitely won’t we’ve booked a cottage , awaiting confirmation and selling the camper
Just say you've got a shower. When it rains stand outside in your kegs with a sponge and a bar of soap...
We have booked a cottage , get the family holiday sorted , the campers not going anywhere and will get used over the summer when all the palava has settled down
We are waiting until at least September before trying. Everywhere’s going to be rammed and as theres not much else is open they will be hanging around the site not my idea of a relaxing break.
If I hadn’t of booked this way in advance I wouldn’t look at booking anything too elaborate myself , maybe the odd over night somewhere
I`m currently looking at boating holidays on t`broads , they`ve come down since we went a couple of years ago ... At least there`ll be a change of scenery , a cooling breeze and a fridge
We went camping on the broads a couple of years back , I have to say i loved the waterways and the relaxed atmosphere
