Help stuck at petrol station

Stopped for fuel and bus won't start, solenoid clicks and that's it, tried jump starting but still the same. Is this the hot start problem and if so should I just leave it to cool and try later. On way to camp at Keith's field?

 

Try tapping the starter motor with a hammer or big spanner while someone tries starting it.

Check the battery earth and the gearbox strap to earth too.

 

As above or sounds like a battery issue

Wiggle the gear lever it may be a sticky neutral position switch on the auto mechanism

It looks like the starter, the clicking is the hot start relay. If I put a feed direct to the solenoid it's dead

 

There's a GSF in Peterborough if that helps

I’ve got a NOS automatic starter , I’m Portsmouth but can post to Keith’s field if your there or your house

 

Put it in neutral and try. amazed the starter has just died, usually these things die slowly.

 

It'll start either when the breakdown gets there or when you get home. Hopefully the former.

 

What a silly thing to do. Stop for fuel

 

Mine was forever doing that - had to rock it in reverse gear to free the starter (not so easy on an auto) - eventually had the connections on the starter cleaned last year - been fine since.
