Does it not need planning as it significantly changes the design of the house

    Just read:

There are many changes that fall under the bracket of a permitted development, which means that planning permisison isn’t required. Of these changes, rendering and cladding a property is generally considered a permitted development, so it’s allowed.

However, there are some instances where you may need planning permission to render your home, such as if:

    • You live in a conservation area (such as a National Park)
    • Your property is listed
    • You use materials that don’t match the construction of your home
    • You’ve had your permitted development rights removed

How can rendering over brick be considered as similar materials?

The cat has left her bedroom sanctuary (she stayed there when friends with two dogs visited) and had the warmest seat in the house :)
