Anyone delt with them lately? I bought a beam for our bus a few years back and was really pleased with it, so went to them for a beam for out Beetle. We paid at the end of November and two weeks later no beam. Emailed and had a reply saying there was a 2 week wait. Christmas came, so again, I emailed and no reply. Another email in the new year, still nowt. I messaged via PayPal on the 7th...nothing. Its getting on for 2 months now and I'm over 300 quid out of pocket and nowt to show for it...website is still taking orders! Anyone bought out off them recently, or heard anything from them?
No, but they never change! 20 years ago I tried to contact him for weeks/months and when I finally did he said he'd been on a 2 week cider bender with a visiting relative then had to recover. lol Sometimes he literally just CBA and dips out for months on end.
i saw it , or maybe i didnt, but its gone, ps it was me shouting at you on the weekend, you are the king of perseverance, is it restored yet
unfortunately this is normal. I’ve bought a few beams over the years and other bits. Some parts he has or has to build and arrive within a few days or sometimes I’ve waited months. I waited 4 months for a k&L beam for my old bay which he said he had in stock.
It’s these modern ear buds, can’t hear a thing! Did spot you just as you drove by I think. She’s tucked up out of mother natures way. Resto to start once I’ve paid my dues and decorated the house and I’ve made a she shed!
I bought my dropped spindles from him a few years back. They arrived quickly on exchange, came to fit them a couple of weeks later and one of them had the wrong pattern broached into them - quite a random issue as no one concerned thought that there was an alternative pattern on ball joint trailing arms. He responded to an email the same day, was happy to receive the item back and resend a replacement - all sorted Saturday to Saturday. I later bought some spring plates from him, again they arrived in good time, perhaps some slow coms, but all good. I know he's caused people some concerns, but I feel it fair to be honest about my experience!
True, but in a way I admire his approach. So easy to get in a trap making more money than you need/want and working all the time. I say this from experience of working 70-80+ hour weeks when 30 would have suited me just fine.
That's fine, and i sound like an arsehole saying it, but I don't care if he works 24hrs a day 7 days a week...he took my order, my money, my business and he cant be arse to update me on a delivery date. If he's busy or wants time off, fair enough, but don't take on more work and refund me so I can go elsewhere.
I agree completely, he should have advised you to buy from a supplier, what he has done is completely wrong. But sadly, life has taught him that he can get away with it, there's always another sucker along. If you paid by card, can you do something? Voting with your feet style. I knew another infuriating non communicating "supplier". His view was that it was pointless telling someone anything negative and wouldn't speak to anyone unless he had good news! People invariably demanded "when?" and if say he was in turn waiting for a supplier he could not give a satisfactory answer that didn't sound like an old tired excuse, which made him feel even worse. So he simply baulked. His second reason was that if he spent his time explaining to everyone why he hadn't delivered and couldn't say when, he'd get even further behind. Not excusing anyone, but it's interesting what goes on behind the scenes in peoples heads. Your TH guy, for all you know, could have had a stroke or a bad car accident. Waiting is. (that's a quote from a famous book)
Yes, you know who I'm talking about! Is it an extension of "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"?
Your spot on...I've no intention of publicly slating anyone, just wanted to see if this was the norm or if anyone else was waiting for stuff
