Portree. The journey over from Fort William was amazing (you’ll have to wait for those pics) but Glen Sheil down to Kyle of Lochalsh was breathtaking.

Where are you stopping on Skye @MorkC68 ? We stopped at a camp site right on the water at Dunvegan. It was only a walk away from a fabulous restaurant called The old School. Proper nice food, mainly local. Really nice atmosphere inside tho we were quite lucky to be able to get a table.

We’re at Portree Campsite top side of the town. Nice site but the wind, 37 knots all night.

the town is friendly though, we struggled to find any places to eat but a bar had football on, they said we could get chippy tea and have a pint while we ate. Atmosphere was good!

Its very touristy at the moment, we watched four coaches empty out, but good to see for the local economy.

We’re walking down today via the waterfront to see what’s around.

    Tomorrow Applecross.

Never quite understand the "good for the local economy" bit - good for a couple of pubs and a shop but *******es everyone else off maybe. :)

  14. This ^^ most old biddies on coaches don't spend a £. Will wait till they get back to the hotel to have a cup of tea. Places here have banned coaches, they fill the shops and car park but take no money

There used to be an old folks home weekly outing to the marina here in a large minibus/small coach. They'd park for an hour and look out of the window, nobody ever got out!

Nice change of scenery for them tho :). An entrepreneur would have sandwiches/take away cuppas and go to the coach. Bet they’d be interested then :) @3901mick  you could make a fortune!!

  17. That would involve having to be nice to people on a regular basis, not for me :)

I don't think they even knew where they were, too busy nodding off and dribbling. Box ticking for the old folks home I reckon - "weekly coach outings".
