Got home after getting a heated windscreen en route.

Suffered two bouts of misfire. After sitting idling for a few minutes at traffic lights, the ignition started cutting out accelerating away from the lights, but if I just drove through it, it would settle down and run perfectly back up to 65-70mph..
And then work for 100 miles without noticeable hesitation.
I suspect coil, condenser, braid on sliding plate in the distributor or just a nasty distributor cap.
I did try poking stuff while it was idling, but the fault had cleared within about 500 metres so I just joined the M40 and had no trouble...

  19. Did your engine temperature behave on the way home Mike?

  20. Are you confusing misfire with flatulent
