After a lot of driving over the summer and at least one scary moment changing lanes on the m-way (lhd bus) i've bought a set of autowares convex mirrors. Not driven with them on yet but will take the bus out this weekend at some point. Seem to be good quality. Autowares Mirror by Rob E, on Flickr I had the Wolfsburg West stainless mirrors on previously - they are excellent quality and look new even though they must be 4 or 5 yrs old now. They have a stainless head and chrome arm. Heritage etc sells these for 45ish each which is pretty much inline with the Autowares pricing. Comparison - WW 4 year old mirror on the left, new Autowares mirror on the right: Untitled by Rob E, on Flickr Untitled by Rob E, on Flickr Before anyone says, yes i know i could probably have swapped the glass for convex, but tbh i couldn't be arsed and i run the risk of smashing stuff, plus if i sell the old mirrors then the cost to change won't be much different.
I have these from automated and they are awesome. Took a little while to get used to but they just seem normal now. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk
sounds good. everyone i've spoken to about these says they are fantastic. Edit - update. Did some miles this weekend and i have to say the mirrors are excellent - really gives you a wide view across all three lanes when you're on a motorway looking into your passenger mirror from the drivers seat of a LHD bay. Recommend 100%.
Halfords - its flexible so perfect for the steering box top up - it jams in place through the gap so you can focus on not spilling lubricant on your carpet.
Isle of Wight looks great hoping to go nxt year any campsite tips ? is the hound a Ridgeback or a Vizla ?
We stayed at Compton Farm. Lovely quiet site, pretty basic but that's how we like it. We toured the whole island and checked out a few other sites, didn't find anything nicer. Good beach nearby too and not too far away from Freshwater (shops etc) and Totand, Yarmouth pubs/restaurants. Winston is a Vizsla - loves camping.
No update, but sharing a great pic taken by "retro cars only" at the April Bicester Heritage Sunday Scramble.
Bought these for my split panel van and they are a game changer! As anyone who has driven a LHD split panel van with std mirrors will surely agree!
Nice weather today and I’m not working at the moment so no excuse needed to take the hounds out for a walk in a nice location.
Peep inside and you can see how different they are - lots of visible vanes inside the og ones. gen / og are the anthracite ones (rustoleum). Silver ones are repros.
