Hi everyone My wife and I have just become owners of a '77 Bay Window High Top. We're so excited about it as we've wanted one forever but never thought it'd be possible. An unmissable opportunity came up out of the blue and here we are! I drove it to work today with a huge smile on my face We need to fit a rock and roll bed with seatbelts in it and a single minbus seat with seatbelts as we have 3 children in child seats so we can't use it to go away until this is done. Any help or advice towards this goal will be very much appreciated by me and my family! My kids have already planned our first trip Dave
Afternoon from a Sunny Notts, welcome to the forum. The nosy lot on here are bound to ask you to post some pic's up
Pics as requested! Thanks for the warm welcome So far I've binned the nasty hubcaps and fitted these moon caps that came with it. I've also removed the old chipboard boxes/seats and given it a darn good hoovering! It has a rock and roll bed but it's made of MDF and has no structural properties so I can't use it as a seat to attach seatbelts so that's coming out next.
Nice hightop looks like you’ve got an awful lot of original roof chopped out? Hope it’s been suitably strengthened!
My wide-angle-lens-estate-agent-style picture may be fooling you! How much is normal? I'll go and check Sent from my CPH2371 using Tapatalk
Roughly about this But it has the solid edge part of the roof running full length both sides of that makes sense?
Welcome. Another Sheldon...you guys will be having your own club soon @Flakey , @Dicky ... Worth getting what Flakey says checked out though @RustedPistons as there was quite a lot of subtle strengthening done to the shell when converters chopped the roofs for fibre glass caps. Loads of help available here if you aren't sure, and best to be on the safe side with 3 youngsters on board. @davidoft is the man for rear seat belt mounts
Anyone know where I need to look to check it's strengthened appropriately? Yes I've PM'd davidoft thank you Sent from my CPH2371 using Tapatalk
