Nobody can say what it's worth from a few photos, the engine might be a dog, no idea what it drives like etc, go and see it then report back
From the limited photos I'd say your about 2-3 years out of date with that. Remember you wanted £10k for yours unfinished and with no engine or interior.
It think as with any classic the prices that people advertise for varies massively, going on eBay, gumtree, classics and cars etc the prices for good to perfect example varies by as much as 30% to 50%. From what I can see a seemingly spotless example is advertised for between 20k to 25k, which is well and truly out of my price range.
Are bays really selling for 17k nowadays in not mint condition? Ive had to admit to myself that i was chancing my arm at 10k for mine in unfinished condition but would hope its worth more than that finished
Further pics here on eBay, I think I posted this link in my introduction page. http://r.ebay.com/8P0O6j
If I was in the market I'd be going to look at this one. http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/1977-t2-wesfaila-£14-250-scarborough.50675/
Take this with a pinch of salt, but the guy bought it from VWKampers, who recently serviced it and said that it was the best running engine they had seen in a long time. So I will definately be going over that with a fine tooth comb.
Yea got in contact with richard, who kindly sent me some pics, not easy for me to see that one as it's over 300 miles away from me.
300 miles of travel is nothing to the pain and cost of buying a dog just because it saves you a little travelling. I'd ignore location if I were you.
Hear what you are saying, not ignoring location, just looking at at buses in close proximity first, then if nothing suits me I will look further a field.
Ok, quick update. Got a message from the bloke selling the bus. basically his price is set @17k, he'd already turned down offers just below. So I decided not to waste his or my time looking. The hunt continues.....
Sixth image down where the central heater pipe passes through the chassis has had a good whack, you can see the creases in the crossmember where the impact struck. £17k is a lot for that, Bumpnudger Alan sold a 5 times show winning westie for that price last year and that was mint all round, underneath was spotless too, running a 2056 type 4 motor, fully re trimmed interior, alloys, was kept in tip top condition
Rotten as a pear! That underside black rust looks pretty bad,i wouldnt touch it if i were you!...Who's selling it and whats their number?...
