Thought I'd say a quick hello. Put my deposit down on our first Bay. I've got a t5.1 Caravelle and the '73 Bay is for the wife. Hoping to pick it up next weekend, and can't wait. Seriously got me thinking of chopping in my 'Velle for a bay too. But are they really any good as a daily drive??
Welcome along! Depends what you mean by “good”? Ours is currently our only driveable vehicle and gets taken to work a few days a week and most weekends (I bike the rest). I love driving it so to me it’s good! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Welcome along. I’m doubtful about using a T2 as a daily, especially in winter. No wasps are going to be involved here though
Mate, it was her choice!! I live her to bits, but knowing she's doing the school run in her new bus... Well,... Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Hello and welcome from Sheffield . I say keep both vehicles then you can have ones for different situations. I don’t mind driving my Bay on the mway when it’s dry but not so keen in poo weather
that's a very good point... Good job there is the option of a school bus too Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
That has crossed my mind TBH. Looking at a cheap little run around for her too so she can keep the bay in the garage. If I swap my'Velle for a bay though, it will prob out on the drive. Does this wax oil stuff keep the salt it though?? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Yes, somewhat, but you need to get the wax in between the double skinned panels. Best ask others to help out on this too, especialy those who have done a full resto. You need to think where they rust and why, it's not just about the wax.
Our wasps are asleep under the planter so, hello from a Sunny Kirkby in Ashfield.. we have two bays, neither are daily drivers nor Michelle's, she wont drive em
Has your wife ever driven a T2? Mrs Cunny had one drive round the block and said never again - she said it was too hard for her to find the gears and the steering is too heavy when parking - so I get to drive it all the time - Oh and Hi from West Lancashire by the way.
Hello and welcome from down in the New Forest. Love driving my Bay, and I'm happy heaving it around corners, finding the gears, wearing extra clothes in the winter, and all the little niggles.... but I'm not sure it wouldn't take a bit of the magic off if I drove it all the time. Dunno. Not to mention, they're not exactly fuel economic..... Enjoy
