Vinyl Headlining Cleaner

  1. Can anyone advise what to use to clean a white/cream headlining?

  2. I used a vynil cleaning agent from Tesco. Was excellent but a bit toxic so only use with all doors and windows open. Did take a while and a lot of'elbow grease but was worth it. There are other products on the market that do the same. Also WD40 is good for stubborn stains and also mild paint compound cream. Try a small trial bit first before attempting a large area.

  3. I have used those ‘Magic Eraser’ pads (Melanine Foam) on the headliners of my 76 bay and 65 Beetle to great effect.

There are a lot of fake cheap versions on the market, but the proper stuff was invented by BASF/Proctor & Gamble, which translates to “Flash” as a brand. I used the basic Flash ‘original’ ones, rather than ‘ultra power’!

  4. Vanish soap bar with a very soft brush
