Stopped on the seafront a few weeks ago for two nights. You are parked on the road, but where I was had a divide in the middle which seemed to make passing vehicles slow down. If you're a light sleeper you probably won't like it. It's free and at this end of the promenade there aren't any facilities. Plenty of shops and bars about a mile south, where you can park up but it's noisier there.
