Wheel Identification / Offset

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by mattw, Dec 5, 2021.

  1. I bought some BRM 15 inch wheels a couple of years ago from a guy who said he had them on his T2.

I’ve measured the offset and it looks like is coming out at +5. When I Google it, it seems offsets are more like 12-45 on T2 wheels.

Does anyone know if these would fit on a late bay and If not, what they could be from?!

  2. Try them on?

iIRC brm wheels are ET12 which isn’t a great offset for a bay. They are going to sit much further out in the arch giving you a wider track than stock. If you are lowered this could cause some issues with rubbing if you are running a stock width beam. If you have dropped spindles then these can also make the track wider :)

There was a run of BRM's a good while back with an odd offset, Gusbus has some as I didnt realise for a good few years until I fitted them, we bought them cheap in a Heritage (?) sale. They do sit a little wider than they should but we have no issues with them.
