Brilliantly funny man. We took dad to Ronnie Scott’s for his 85 birthday, a show about Humphrey Littleton. Barry Cryer was MC and was brilliant. RIP
RIP. Brilliant man. Not a bad age to go and leaves a great legacy. Of course he was Dick Jaws in the Rutles film All You Need Is Cash
Very sad, a very funny man, remember him on The Good Old Days which my old man used to watch avidly RIP
Such a talented man , very much his light hidden under a bushell, writing for the stars who got almost all the adoration for the work created by Cryer . His voice would stop me what ever i was doing to listen to him , a true gent and giant in his field that most of us wont know about because of his modesty ,RIP
He seemed to be always laughing or making people laugh.. There was a good clip of him on R4 today doing a tribute to himself ,
As well as performing on stage, radio and television, Cryer wrote for many performers including Dave Allen, Stanley Baxter, Jack Benny, Rory Bremner, George Burns, Jasper Carrott, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson, Dick Emery, Kenny Everett, Bruce Forsyth, David Frost, Bob Hope, Frankie Howerd, Richard Pryor, Spike Milligan, Mike Yarwood, The Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise. None of these would have been half as funny without Cryer's input. RIP
Another one for my Dad to say "I knew him before he made good" Both in the same Leeds community ... Here's one from BC: Four Jewish women finish their restaurant meal. The waiter asks "Was anything alright"
