Totally pointless discussing as you simply accept headline statements without researching their accuracy.

 

They were talking about legal aid barristers. The entire five minute report was about legal aid barristers. They interviewed legal aid barristers. It wasn’t my figures. It was theirs.

Even the law gazette says that the 13k figure quoted by the bar council is typically only for the first two years of practice. Basically like a lot of other professionals. I got £60 A WEEK in my first job,one of my mates got £29 A WEEK on YTS. He went on to earn over 90K a year as a computer programmer until he passed away. That’s what happens when you get a trade. I can’t remember ever thinking I should go on strike as a junior and I certainly never turned down a 15% pay rise cos no employer would have ever offered such a thing.

I know that it suits the narrative of a lot of people on here to say that I somehow get my views from the Daily Mail. Even though I’ve never bought it in my life. But I posted this original post after listening to BBC Five Live this morning and then ITV News this evening. Not exactly hot beds of right wing propaganda are they.

I thought one of the purposes of this forum was to offer advise to those seeking it. Whether that is accepted or not is up to the recipient. If you think that offering advise is pompous then so be it.

 

Did they mention a freak weather event in a few weeks? Something like Barnsley will be hotter than Saudi Arabia in Oct? The Express normally has something like that.
