Don’t worry it’s not like I’m back like I used to be, I know just like my old bus I was a bit Marmite back then, Pete hailfrank and I have remained Facebook friends and got chatting recently over his new found love of Austin Allegros and he invited me to become unbanned (can’t believe it was 2016!) assuring me my nemesis had disappeared (long story new kids) but anyway I know some of us have stayed in contact via FB and me still occasionally coming to T/E and Keith’s I thought it would be nice to see how you’re all getting on and if Para’s finished his bus…… I’m buggered if I can remember how to work this old forum technology now so I’ll spare you pictures of my current van and the next one I’ve just ordered. And yes I do own an Austin Allegro.
Why didn’t British leyland give their cars proper British names like they did their lorries. I think the allegro would have been better called the spirit of Brum, the marina could have been called the Oxford bag etc.
Triumph stag Triumph herald Then they call the best of the lot a a Dolomite? failing that they fell back on engine sizes. The 1100, 1300, 1800 Wolsey 6, apart from the mini and the Maxi they were very uninspiring names for their cars in the 70’s!
I remember when you hit 10,000 posts and everyone thought it was amazing. Check out how much of his life @snotty has spent on here!!
He was featured in the show us your last picture thread a month or two back when he took his squareback to the arctic circle!
