Fire suppressant system?

Discussion in 'Van Accessories' started by Bohobus, Apr 20, 2023.

  1. After 7 years restoring our van and after a previous van going up in smoke we are looking to get a fire suppressant system installed. I've heard of one that is like a 3m hose above the engine in the engine bay?

Just looking for suggestions for a 1978 T2 bay?

    Thanks :)

  3. I have the gas system from vwaircooledworks.

easy to install, wired into the power supply to the fuel pump so if it’s triggered it will stop fuel being pumped into the engine bay. Preferred gas as it doesn’t make a big mess if it goes off, unlike foam or powder. Also have a handheld powder extinguisher in the bus just in case.

Remember most fires are caused by electrical problems, check all systems, personally I don’t use them makes me check regularly
