Air Filter & Exhaust

    The A type with the thermo valve connection for manifold vacuum is the better match for your bus.

    My VW engine manual dates from about 1969 with updates to about August 1974..

    A 1700 " T4"engine is listed for the T2 in May 1972.

    August 1973.. the T2/1700 is superseded by an T2/1800

  3. No shelf but I can easily knock something up, the filter not heavy just to catch it.

    Cleaned the Beetle Filter ready for sale so on the hunt now for an original filter.

  4. If it was me I’d get a genuine airbox and stand from a bus that’s being cut up for parts.
     
  5. This is the type of stand for the paper filter airbox

  6. Yeah that's the plan, can easily fabricate something to hold the housing or cut out of a scrap bus.
     
  7. If you can find one, go for the later airbox with the paper filter in.

  16. Sorted found one :), engine & Box going back in this weekend so will install and fabricate a shelf to hold the filter.

  17. You're missing the wire catch on the end? And the big rubber grommet?

  19. I removed them whilst I was prepping and painting.
    I also made the stand removable.
