Alternator woes

    If you set about the job expecting that you’ll end up probably taking the engine out you might be pleasantly surprised!

    What a palaver; it makes taking out a Type 4 alternator (and adjusting the belt) a doddle. :)

    Had another look today. Unfortunately the bolts on the fan housing are not on slots. Gave up the ghost and put it all back together :(.
    Good news, it started first time…….well second after I’d put the hoses to the fuel pump the right way round :confused::):thumbsup:

    Photo of the offset box my mate made me to get around the conundrum of attaching the air hose, works well, hopefully will also accept the s/s air tube which , whilst not bendy is tough :) CF0B2342-B2D9-468A-9D9B-47C241E6802A.jpeg

    This is my pie cut n weld stainless adaptor...
    Through tinware at top, right hand heat exchanger input at bottom..
