Am I right in thinking original barrels have key IDS on them, is this lock oem or aftermarket as plan on retumbling all locks. Sent from my SM-A127F using Tapatalk
There’s no markings on the barrels themselves, though they look genuine to me , the aftermarket are very poor quality
I thought the sliding door might have the ID code. But the best route is to match sets of biscuits to the key you want to use.. you might find its just a shuffle around of the three different patterns...
3 locks are oem but very loose so was going to replace wafers on these, will look around them again. Sent from my SM-A127F using Tapatalk
Where can I find key nos as found somewhere that offers wafer sets to key code is it 6 digits on key ? Sent from my SM-A127F using Tapatalk
On mine the loose locks werent the wafers but slots worn in the brass lock bodies by the wafers...on my drivers door the grooves went far enough I could unlock it with my thumbnail... JK Preservation Parts door locks look different have different barrels but use the same wafers. So I bought one off eBay and swapped it over.
I think it's the tailgate lock, from memory, that has a key code in it and it's quick and easy to take off. I can't remember where it's stamped. I can go and look if you can't find it. I remember it being on a tab of metal.
Someone on here had a bunch of spare shims/wafers so you can re-key a lock but I don't recall who it was
