  1. I must fit mine one day!

On that note does anyone know the lengths of the two rods in the cab?

I recall one is shorter than the other but I've forgotten by how much

Mine are out in the garage at the moment so as long as you don't need to know "right now" I'll measure them up for you.

    @allibus3

Ok, just been out and had a measure up

They both have little caps on each end and both have slight bends at the ends.

The figures I got were 1.30 and 1.31.

I hope that's some help. The wire gauge is about the same as one of the thicker wire coat hangers.

  7. Yep, it does.

I have two rods from VWH but they all come the same length.

    Cheers dude :)

@Diddymen when I stick mine on do I use high temp contact adhesive?

  11. It wouldnt hurt, but not really necessary IMO ...depends what brands you are using

    I use evostick

    its good stuff

the only areas that really need glue are the front (but the windscreen seal will also hold that edge in place) and the rear corners.

the sides can be held in place with the gripper strip by tucking in about an inch of excess material and trimming off the rest (I didnt use glue along the sides on mine and its not moved) tucking too little in along the sides wont hold under by the grip strips alone without glue, so best to tuck in as much as you can fit and trim off the rest....the 'cut' can then also be pushed under the grip strip so it wont be seen.

If you dont use glue along the sides it gives you a 'second chance' it you dont get it taught enough, as you can pull it back out, make adjustments, and tuck it back in ......be careful you dont damage the material on any sharp edges on the grip strip

  12. Hi Diddymen, is there any chance you could let me know where Mrs D buys the vinyl? I am planning to glue some to the rear roof boards, & it would be nice to get a perfect colour match.

    Cheers
P.s, I will be fitting my lovely new front headlining within the next month so expect some piccies of my efforts

If you're anywhere local to me I'd quite happily come round and practice fit yours before I do mine. :)

  14. Hi Sandy, thanks for the offer - but I live on the Isle of Man :)
