I think sentinal got involved with a guy from America who built an 120 mph steam car in their factory in the 1920’s, I read the story of sentinel trucks and remember a guy mentioned who I think was called ‘ White’ who developed it.

The Sentinal steam wagons certainly matched the Foden steam trucks .
When sentinal changed to diesel with there underslung engines way past the front axle it limited them to 6 and 4 wheelers .
The engine was in the way for 8 wheelers second steer and the drive axle on a tractor unit .

  4. Not any more, Vauxhall were sold to PSA(Peugeot-Citroen group) a few years ago, then PSA became Stellantis and they aquired Opel from GM.

I started working with Vauxhall in 1985. Probably at their height. It was sad to see them steadily go down hill from the late 90’s. They lost a billion pounds per year for ten years
PSA basically put Vauxhall badges on there products now but started making a profit within the first year.
