Discussion in 'Restorations' started by Andyr7, Jan 2, 2022.

  1. Can anyone tell me what type/make of clip/hook/slider goes on this track?? I have the complete set that was laying in van when i got it and it’s completely different to the track on my other bay ( that one slid into an actual runner but this one has me baffled but if i can find out which “hang?” Off it it will save me buying another set AC14BB7B-D2A2-4182-9C2A-3D9808211654.jpeg 04AE56A0-1AB7-4229-8121-5998DB0075DD.jpeg F05A46C1-AEB0-495D-9C3D-A0CE5401B5D7.jpeg

No clips required on those Westy rails; the rail fits into a pocket in the curtain.

  5. Yeah mine is an early westy
So the curtain has to be fed onto track before fixing to van?

I have a set of genuine westy curtains in mustard yellow going spare, I believe it's a complete set,

Some parts faded with age but that's to be expected

    If your interested

No clips just use small pan head screws for a neat finish, that's what I did

You can’t really see because the rail is behind the pelmet but the curtain is simply fed onto the rail. Rails top and bottom on the rear window, spring wire on the bottom at the side windows.

2 options , spring cable in front of the curtain so it's visable OR spring through the bottom of the curtain hem as in my pic for a neater finish

    Just my 2p worth

  16. So why have it at the bottom in first place? Is cos of angle of window and see a small gap to look through when closed? Cos iv never seen on any other camper they just hang

It just looks neater, no visable wire, cost you nothing to try

The wire is supposed to fit on the inside of the curtain to hold it back against the side of the bus. It’s about 10cm above the bottom of the curtain. The slider has nothing and the curtain just hangs vertically away from the side.
There should also be a small plastic clip on the C-pillar to hold the wire between the two curtains. I’ll take a pic tomorrow.
