  1. Stayed here for a couple of nights this weekend. About 100 pitches in the main field where the toilets etc are, many with electric. There is a second field which seemed to be for tents only. £27 a night for the van with electric and the dog. it is sandwiched between the sites caravan storage area and a small industrial estate but there was no noise from this. Very clean site, plenty of toilets and hot showers and the reception area has a decent shop.

The site has its own "farm" housing peacocks, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, ponies, donkeys and quails so ideal for the kids to do some petting. The walk around the farm is all grass pathed and is about a mile so ideal for walking the dog as well. You can see the start of the south downs at Eastbourne from the site.

About 200 metres away is a fish and chip shop and there is a pub "The Heron" just beyond that. We walked a bit further into the village where Pevensey Castle allows you to let dogs run off lead within the castle walls. Immediately outside the far entrance are two further pubs, "The Smugglers" and "The Royal Oak and Castle". We had a couple of meals in the "The Royal Oak" - very nice, and a couple of nice real ales on tap - "Copper Top" was my favourite.

Another 1.5 miles further on, pavement all the way is Pevensay Bay - there are also plenty of country walks nearby. Would be an ideal base for exploring the downs, Hastings or Eastbourne.
