Freddyfiles - uk cruise to Ninove Belgium

Over last couple of years there has been some interest in the trip to Belgium, known generally as Freddyfiles. Ive been once and planned going again but Covid prevented it from taking place.
I find information is always disjointed and finding specifics is quite hard but heres a link to the Facebook page where i found most out .

Its planned for the event being 13 March 2022 with the english contingent generally sailing over the day before and meeting up in a service station before a journey to a brewery then onto Ninove .
A fantastic few days away with bonus of a fairly decent auto jumble on the day .
If you dont know about it do a youtube search to see what its about .
Having made this post i am not necessarily going as my van still hasn't an engine and its a strictly air-cooled event .
Covid is still restrictive in certain parts of the world and a risk to not only health but also any ferry ticket money laid out if show is cancelled .

It would be good to know of interested parties and could any info gleamed be reported on here , you never know we might get a few together to make a trip of it by those willing to establish the facts be it covid, travelling or other .

 

I could be persuaded, I have thought about Freddie's in the past, I nearly took the Bug in 2017, but bottled, that was a special year for me as Freddie did the 67's 50th anniversary celebration. In the end, lady fate had an odd hand to play, as they say, the Bug's gearbox died very shortly after the road trip season started and, more than likely, the Bug wouldn't have made the trip without needing a yellow taxi.

I may do Volksworld, to be honest Volksworld is more likely, after all it's a safer bet in terms of booking stuff and I quite fancy seeing a few show cars and the Magazine has improved of late with the new editorial team, so let's hope the show reflects the new team's energy and creative flair.

As ive said before its difficult to establish consistent information about the event but sufice to say it does appear cancelled till at least 2023. Bugger

yeah really bad news on this one, I know someone that is part of above link and we had a heads up in September for the forth coming date. So booked tunnel, hotel early before it was announced only to be told this 2 weeks before xmas .......
