Free Weekend Camping...

  1. Mrs Robo was away on a hen weekend in London leaving me & the mini Robo's to fend for ourselves when my mate who's birthday it is today informed me that his wife had bought him a clay pigeon shooting session at the Kibworth shooting ground, the voucher was for two people and I was to be his +1 :D

There was talk of a BBQ which would obviously involve a small amount of alcohol but with me having the mini Robo's & driving wouldn't be able to participate :(

I had a flash of inspiration, as I knew of a very cheap in fact free camp site very close to their house in LE8, their front garden

We dropped Mrs Robo off at the train station & headed on our mini adventure to Kibworth, I wasn't sure we had done the right thing as it was raining & the forecast wasn't good o_O

We arrived & pitched up, dumped the Robowagen on the front lawn :D

Then the heavens opened, it hammered it down for two hours, then with only half an hour before we had to be at the shooting ground it slowed so we went for it leaving the mini Robo's under the charge of my mates wife...

Shooting was good and we didn't get anymore rain in fact it just got hotter & hotter, on our return the kids were enjoying the open air pool at the site...

My mate fired up his BBQ...

The party was a low key affair, food was good & the cider was flowing in the garden soaking up the sun & catching up with friends.

Got the kids to sleep as the sun disappeared & continued to chat & drink :burp:, we ran out of cider so I fetched the brandy from the van & continued :burp:

That's the point it got out of hand & before we knew it the sun was coming up & the birds started to sing we were all a little bit  I transferred the kids from the sofa into the Robowagen & slipped into a deep state of drunken unconsciousness until I was woken by Charlie tapping me on the head :gnome: saying he was hungry, I lay there for a moment thinking about how the hell I was going to get through today on such a small amount of sleep, luckily I got a text from Rach (mates wife) saying send the kids in if you want, so I opened the slider & threw them out

Thing is when I'm awake I can't get back sleep so after laying in my pit for a while I got up pulled out the cooker & brewed up, once the coffee was digested I cracked the bacon out at which point everyone came out and two packs of bacon & a loaf later everyone had been fed...

It tastes so much better when your camping :D

Luckily the sun was shining, the kids played in the pool & I spent the rest of the day like this...

So with a patch of grass, great friends, great food, loads of alcohol & a camper to crash in what more do you need :D:D:D

  2. Clearly not a caravan club site as you've been allowed to park slightly wonky !:p

I like the idea that you carry a bottle of brandy in the camper. Purely for medicinal purposes I would presume?
