Fuel leak

I have fuel leaking either side of carb where accelerator arm pivots is it just case of tightening both nuts ?

No. Leak from the spindle suggest the float bowl is overflowing due to dodgy float valve.

 

Also not helped by probably also having worn spindle bushes.
A stock carburettor service kit comes with a new float valve.
