Hi from Gertie and Tash

  1. Hi,

    I just bought a beautiful 1978 T2 called Gertie.

Engine is 2004 and not very many miles on her but she needs some bodywork and interior TLC... very excited to get started.

I'm based in Birmingham, if anyone has any good recommendations for bodywork (I'll need some welding done) or to give the engine the once over, would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Tash

  4. Hi from West Lancashire -Nice colour bus. The only check I did on our Bus's engine was to check the crank shaft end float - just pulled back and forwards on the crankshaft pulley and it didn't move more than a mm or so - and no smoke from the exhaust or nasty rattling noises. An expert would have taken a compression tester with them I suppose.

    Welcome.

Do get a couple of manuals and learn what you can. This'll keep your bus happy.
At least to check and gap valves, it's easy and v. Important.

    Enjoy your bus.
