    Yes. Sorry.
In all the excitement, I couldn’t remember :p
It’s a late late bay, Devon, last year made, I think. Needs panel work, but not a lot to make it look pretty. Engine is fine with a crap Empi carb, but runs. Underneath is good. NonDevon interior but rear seat and a long worktop on the right, for the guys kids to draw pictures on paper on,craft etc. I havnt actually seen it, but I think I know it. Lime green. I’ll find out tommorow, if you want. Thinks he wants about 12k for it.
Pm me if you really give one.

  4. that site has an extract of the dvla datbase effectively showing what they hold on v5's. problem is unless you know exactly how every model is described (kombi, motor caravan, microbus, westfalia etc) you are looking at thousands of potential model descriptions so its really hard to get a clear view.

  5. my v5 says its a "motor caravan" - on the howmanyleft site that shows 5,763 registered and 2,492 sorn which feels about right.

  7. So driving a VW T2 bus ( split/bay) is a bit like driving a Mercedes F1 car.
According to Lewis Hamilton - he said in an interview this week - "I don't know if people know, but we sit closer to the front wheels than all the other drivers. Our cockpit is too close to the front.

"When you're driving, you feel like you're sitting on the front wheels, which is one of the worst feelings to feel when you're driving a car.

"If you were driving your car at home and you pulled the wheels right underneath your legs, you would not be happy when you're approaching the roundabout.

"What that does is it really changes the attitude of the car and how you perceive its movement. And it makes it harder to predict compared to when you're further back and sitting more centred"
So there you have it from Sir Lewis - why our buses handle so poorly.

Surely you mean "So there you have it from Sir Lewis - why our buses handle so uniquely"

  9. I studied Biology, and one of the ways we found out how many of a give mobile organism there are in a give environment is to undertake a 'capture, mark, release' study. This allows us to identify the approximate proportion of the marked individual there are in the population, and therefore, if we know how many we marked, the total population.

100% of respondents to this thread claim to own a Bay window. If we assume that we are a representative cross section of the population then we can calculate the total number of Bay windows out there. But, being pragmatic, we should assume that on average each of us probably has a partner in crime, so one Bus per two people. Likewise, it is likely that only adults own Bay windows, so we should remove the under 18s from the calculation.

Therefore, as there are 53.4 million adults living in the UK, there must be 24.7 million Bay window busses out there. QED

  10. globally yes I’m sure you’re right.

the howmanyleft site is just uk I think

Judging by what I saw when I was in São Paulo in 2017 there are probably a million just in that city alone - literally every 30 seconds one passes you (and no it’s not just the same bloke driving around the block looking for a parking space )
