A lot of the ones who served their were conscripts not even full time military, luckily I missed the draft by 12 months. Not that I was going to go, I was ready to move back to the UK to avoid National Service
I'd have failed the medical, but didn't know that at the time. Many of the Aussies (& yanks) are still suffering from PTSD thanks to that war
