So it is. With last nights gin powered fuzz slowly clearing I can see it now:p

Pleasant morning in the East Grimlands today...well almost as good as it gets having had mizzle early on, its just overcast and grim.
However, I'd take that for walking round a show. Hope everyone has a good day:thumbsup:

I went to Volksworld Saturday. It was very quiet. I didn’t queue for the car park, to get in or for the bar etc.

I was listening to the voiceover guy, who at one point, was thanking the VW clubs for their support in making the show a success.

Ironic as the local club ( and my club) Surrey Aircooled weren’t there and neither was The Late Bay officially.

I still enjoyed the show but it’s just not what it was in its heyday.

Snapped a couple of pickups - just coz I like em.

However - no Late Bay pickups I could find in the whole show.

I wonder if Kelsey Media will reach out to us next year ?

And they fell through the paper bag in front of a stand where somebody was playing Highway to Hell on a sound system.

Oh no ! this is what they spend their time on whenever they aren't not fixing VWs..

  12. I'm here, milling around.

  13. It was as expected , CRAP !!

Lots of the predictable shiny shiny stuff inside with very few vehicles in the "show ring" where we've had a line up previously and struggled to get everyone in - empty today ...
The racecourse tarmac apron, usually buzzing with club stands - maybe 300 cars and vans - had maybe 50 today.
As for punters, it's usually a crush as you shuffle around the stalls but today was dead...

Support from the grass-roots seems to have disappeared , I think people have generally got sick and tired of being fleeced just giving up their weekend to help on club stands etc then having to paying entry and camping fees for the privilege .
Mothers day can't have helped either - bad planning.

And to cap it all they had a shouty cretin with a microphone telling you where everything was , as if people were getting disoriented in the open areas ...

All for a very cheeky 22 quid - NEVER AGAIN !!

Like others I wasn't impressed and the shout man on the tanoy was the final straw.

  18. That's a pity, I really enjoyed last year. I hope it gets sorted, the alternative is...well there isn't one :(

Strangely, I liked the show this year. It was nice to be able to mill around without the crush. Had lots of space to pick from in the camping area. And didn’t get stuck in the mud. Chilled out to the bloke on the guitar (thank god that house music van wasn’t there this year). My 11 year old daughter really enjoyed it and can’t wait for next year. She has caught the air cooled bug big time. We were looking at (and explaining) engines most of the weekend. Now she wants a beetle. Sorry I missed you chaps.

Anyone going to RTTS this year?
Do you think I will be ‘as good’ as this show?
