Having sold my van with the intention of getting something bigger, with a shower/toilet and a fixed bed. Well I went the other way. Too good a price to pass up, but needless to say - she hates it.
I used to go camping in a works Renault kangoo... Because i'm 6ft tall had to sleep diagonally. Good times.
You like smaller campers, she likes bigger campers…. Possibly a compromise is in order. Something in the middle size range. Like a VW Late Bay?
Originally a BT van, it was converted by Young Conversions - had custom made cabinets to house a cooker, sink and fridge. Also fitted a Fiamma roof vent and solar panel, hook up socket, tow bar and black out curtains, but not sure what the seating/bed arrangement was. The last owner chopped it all about and it's ended up with just a small part of the cabinets left to house a cooker and gas bottle, but moved from along the driver side wall to behind the front seats, which obstructs the side door making it difficult to get in and out. Also fitted a single bus seat right at the back, which made it difficult to get in and out through the back as well. So I've stripped the interior out and will rework it to maximise what is a very limited space. You can see the sink drain and vent grille through the vinyl floor. Need a plan for the space behind the front seats, maybe a tilt table to use when the seats are fully folded forward.
Yep, an odd choice. Trying to get out in an emergency would be like getting out of a Vulcan.....no chance!
