Sadly, there seems to be a rise in Far Right idealogies, or did it ever go away?

Today includes genocides from around the world: Rwanda, Former Yugoslavia, Cambodia, Darfur and Nazi atrocties of WW2. IMO it should include the Irish Potato Famine and the persecution of the American Native people. I'm sure there are others :(, the human race just seems to be intent on destroying itself.

  6. Mum was first responder to a lady living in the apartment opposite , a very gentle and helpful a person as you'd want to meet . Faye survived Auschwitz as a child and went on to live a full and exciting life but getting into her 80s struggled with mobility and occasional flashbacks to her time in the camp - mum would occasionally pop in to find her cowering under the bed . I never realised her mental issues were getting worse until I witnessed it first hand when mum was out and I heard muffled screaming from next door so let myself in and Faye didn't recognise me (although I'd met her many times) , thinking I was a guard which made things worse . I tried talking to her but she just started sobbing so knowing I was making things worse I waited in the hallway until my mum came home - the most heart breaking 20 minutes of my life .

  9. Un-fun fact: years ago when I lived in That Germany, if I took the scenic route to work, I used to drive past the concentration camp in Dachau every morning. Visited a few times: all neat and tidy, like a museum. I don't think you could possibly imagine what it was like, although a visit to the old shooting range up the road in Hebertshausen gave you some idea. Anyone who wasn't up to scratch was taken up there and...dealt with.

  10. I think you'll find "the Left" has a deep-seated streak of anti-Semitism that's never gone away. See recent fate of the Labour party for details.

I think you'll find that was found to be anti Israeli government (a form of apartheid), nothing against people for being Jewish. I don't want to go into it more on this thread.
