For Sale is my 1979 VW Type 2 Bay Window/ Late Bay Devon Moonraker Campervan, Dougal. Right hand drive, pop top roof. A lot of the original 79 Devon Moonraker interior still standing, such as the funky flooring, cushions and seats, sections of cabinets and kitchen area. Has the 3/4 rock and roll bed and MadMatz flooring in the front. The pop top works well, and allows for standing inside, the fabric is the original, though needs some repair. Comes with partial new bare door cards ready to be covered and fitted. Curtains removed for working on the interior but comes with full set of curtains and cushion covers. Original VW hub caps. Also including a JustKampers VW camper cover. Brand new battery as of this Sept 2021. Roughly 86000 miles on the clock. A lot of the visible rust on the sliding door and exterior passenger side has been wire brushed and rust treated with Aquasteel rust converter, as has the entire cargo floor, which has been painted with rust proof paint. The driver's side far rear window panel will definitely need replacing or significant welding. Extensive service history. Engine has been recently serviced and runs smoothly, new gaskets and timing done. Dougal is definitely a project camper and will need some attention/restoration before he's ready to go camping again. Last MOT expired Nov 2017, has been off road since then as I have not been on the Island to use him. Currently SORN and would need uplifting to new location, though does run and can be driven on to a trailer. Can arrange to be transported anywhere on the Isle of Wight for £40 but mainland buyers would need to arrange a trailer.
