You can't make it up what comes out of Trump mouth!!! '...Trump said on Tuesday Musk is doing a "fantastic job", but "radical left lunatics" are "trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla" in an effort "to attack and do harm to Elon". "I'm going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American," Trump added...'
He was going to restore/revive US manufacturing mainly the car industry in his early days ...he had to be taking the ******* ,it had died way before he got into office , but now he tariffs it ,he has effected a totally collapse of what left of a failing industry because the US and Canada USED to be partners in the supply chain of parts ...that will do it . Reckon Ford will go first due to those supply issue's and very poor sales and constant warranty/recall issues ,many dealer yards full that they can't sell and salesman are leaving due to poverty line income with poor commission sales . This isn't going to only bugger the US economy but will have an adverse effect on many other countries .
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgr21jjwg4wo A little jittery now, I don't think Trump buying one Tesla will help, tech stuff due a bit of a shock? As an aside, that is such an odd pic to accompany the article.
I've just watched this and besides the utter disgust I hold for Trump, Musk and Co, I feel immensely sorry for the Americans who are suffering because if this.
To be able to set these Tarriffs, Trump had to declare an economic emergency... while the New York Times were describing the US economy as the envy of the world, which it was. Congress has the power to declare the economic emergency over or non existent so the democrats naturally demanded a vote. They have 15 days to have that vote. There are plentyof Republicans who do not agree with the Tarriffs, many on principle because tarriffs have been proved time and again to be destructive. This is a problem for republicans because there would be a record of how they voted - they would either be in trouble with Trump for opposing him, or go on record for supporting Trumps economic destruction. Tricky. What they've come up with is a slippery misinterpretation proclaiming that every day for the remaining session of congress is in fact the same single day so that the 15 days will never accrue and they won't have to make this decision.
Agree. This spells out the corruption thats blatantly taking place - all of the big headlines and chaos means there's no bandwidth in the media to cover everything that's going on behind the scenes. All to help trump and his billionaire friends make themselves richer.
That ship crash is interesting and having wondered, we're now finding out some details. So, here we have an American tanker with almost a quarter of a million barrels of jet fuel destined for the US navy at anchor, rammed broadside by a cargo ship with a Russian captain and part Russian crew. Hmmm. as soon as I heard it was full of jet fuel bound for the the US navy I did wonder. Accident? I think not.
I've sailed with Russian crews and it wouldn't surprise me if even at 10 am they were in their cups, it was steaming at 16 knots through an anchorage. Radar alarms should have been sounding on the container ship, I would have thought the tanker would have tried to hail them too.
More to do with vodka than malicious activity. By far the daftest thing to do would be a Russian hit on a US crewed tanker carrying US military jet fuel. 2+2 never makes 22......
Full speed broadside into a tanker full of US jet fuel at anchor in a known anchorage. A difficult accident to have I'd say. As someone is missing presumed dead, at least they had a gold plated reason to arrest the Russian captain. I'm more inclined to think he decided to do this off his own bat than coordinated by the Russians as a country - couldn't resist... Interesting now to see if Putin negotiates/agrees to this 30 day ceasefire everyone else is suggesting/agreeing to. I don't think he will, or if he does he'll simply use it to bolster his position militarily in Ukraine before ultimately carrying on as ever.
The Russians have said they will not act on any arrangement they have not instigated, so doesn't really matter what Trumps team "negotiate"
The container ship has been tracked on various AIS sites as following precisely the same track on several round trips, before the tanker arrived on the scene. They werent looking . The tanker just happens to have been moored exactly where the container ship was trundling back and forward. If anybody is dodgy, it will be one of the tanker crew who knew where to anchor following a review of other ships tracks. Unlikely. Conspiracy no, incompetence yes.
We have Russian friends and even after being away from there for many years they very rarely smile. They find it difficult still to criticise the kremlin!
