I'm rubbish at taking photos during!

I'm assuming the bottom should be straight? The middle join seems to be about 5mm below where it should be. Things may have moved during the previous "repair"? The ends line up and I'm tight against the top hats and I beams. Some adjustment before welding in properly, if possible...

That's a big project ! Bloody good effort so far. I found the Just Kamper UK made jacking and battery repairs panel really good fit and quality

  3. Decided to try and save the floor. Still not sure this is way to go. But it seems quite shiny.

Had to make the inner section from scratch, still needs cleaning up.

Starting to un-pick the bottom one.

No idea what was going on here!

    Bottom one clamped in.

Rot went a little further forward than the repair piece so had to make a small section out of 2mm thick metal up.

  4. Just need to get it welded in.

I think the bottom is starting to look "normal"!

I'm sure you worked out that yes it should be.
Top work, just as well you know what you're doing. Hats off to you for tackling this mess - agricultural engineering at it's finest, the previous use of "anything heavy duty that was lying about" is impressive in it's own right.

  6. I think my OCD is going to make the restoration of this bus last decades! :)

Where the rear chassis repair piece joins had been bodged again. I think if you average out the different thicknesses of the metal it may be OK

New bottom lip welded on, then the inner chassis rail piece.

Then on to another previous "repair" using that had used metal that was too thin.

Back to storing grease in strange places...

    Front is getting there slowly.

  7. Looks like great work, you're cracking through it! Not only have you got to repair plenty, but also decipher what is meant to be going on with all the previous bodged repairs. Fair play to ya :)

How thick are you laying on the red coloured primer? I've seen mixed advice to lay it on thick, or super thin, so feeling a tad confused myself on this.
