FOR SALE Replacement Wiper Motor Mounting Kit

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by snotty, Sep 23, 2022.

  1. Done a few of these for folks as a Service to Humanity. These are the extra bits necessary to enable replacement 74-on wiper motors to be mounted and connected. Kit contains motor pigtail loom and connector, support bracket and M8 flange nut for the new motors. Full instructions can be emailed.

  5. Your cheque's in the post, Sarah ;)

  6. As it appears everyone's wipers appear to be on their last legs, I've put together a few more of the kits.

Basic loom, motor plug and support bracket £20 posted, extended loom with intermittent wipe relay socket £30 posted. Bracket has been changed slightly from pic.

You'll need to buy the motor:

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16508480...ZKe2nuVQba&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

And a Meyle delay relay if you need intermittent operation (one wipe every ~5 seconds, wash/wipe function if you've got an electric washer pump):

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222036121840?epid=248766674&hash=item33b26258f0:g:XOUAAOSw1jxhpyFk&amdata=enc:AQAHAAAAsHZnpSGbv/hK61WR6/Y0eT1Otrk1Qop1ML5lkdmwwiYs17pw0ujk6OZy74UH8rJU60IOph/aCrWV3G4sttO9GCaQo3255NG9ZGtEUPo79Omh9kjjYPBNtVwUaPwtaqhJUyqURuJqaypLkCU7Zo1ONuMFerU6nxmDMiE/AscGsqhUtgbXnleC2CxwR9j/qPqn42q3Sf14oPgaUKGE5mi1MJjnqO/tFoQchaF/MZjN1nWT|tkp:Bk9SR-qut4P9YA

So for ~£40 total you'll have shiny new wipers, ~£60 total for fancy ones that do intermittent.

BREAKING NEWS! Support bracket can be provided in Gold, for that enhanced wiping experience!

PM if interested, or PM your email address for the instructions.

  7. How’s the intermittent function fired Rich?
And will the wipers still operate normally if the relay fails?

  11. The "proper" wiper switch/wiring overrides the intermittent operation, so the relay packing up wouldn't affect them.

The delay unit basically has a changeover relay in it to temporarily dab 12V on the motor while the proper wiper switch is in the "off" position. Once the wipers are moving, it effectively drops back to the "standard" wiring, so the wipers park normally at the end of the stroke. If it didn't have that arrangement, you'd blow the wiper fuse.

  13. Apologies if I’m being a bit thick
But what do you move the stalk to for intermittent
I’m sure my stalk only has two settings slow and fast

  14. Intermittent is on a separate switch. I tried and gave up the idea of putting extra contacts into my stalk. It would end in tears. The extra position is usually blanked off with a plastic peg on the switch (which seem to fall out).

  15. Ahh that makes sense I was getting puzzled if there was a stalk swap from a different model needed.

  16. Don't go down that path!

My stalk switch has the physical positions (sans peg), but isn't populated with any contacts. Thought of putting some in, but would have to drill the rivets out etc. As decent OG ones are like hen's teeth, I decided against it.

Easy enough to put a washer switch in, tho'

  17. Is yours an earlier stalk?

  18. Nope. Late and slim, like myself.

  19. Oh and how does the wash wipe function work
Does that require another switch separate to the intermittent one?

  20. If you've got a switch for electric washers already in place, just connect the switch to the T input of the relay as well as the washer motor, and it'll do wash/wipe automatically.
