  1. And now I know I'm in the company of 'understanding friends', would it be a good time to admit to you all that I also used to collect vintage Hoover vacuum cleaners?

Again, the collection went to new homes when I had to clear space for the camper to come and live with me but I did keep 2 of my favourite Juniors from the late 60's :)...

    It’s okay, you’re amongst friends!
And at least I now know that it’s okay for me to keep all my phones, even if they’re not actually in use. I feel so much better now.

    Nice Hoovers, btw

When I went to Sheffield University as a postgraduate in 1982, there was a phone in the workroom from Ashopton village that was flooded to make Ladybower reservoir. I remember thinking that was really cool, but someone else thought so too and it disappeared.

I've 'collected ' loads of stuff, most of it in the loft now. Dinky and Corgi toys including tractors....I like restoring old tired ones, a few rubber tyre ash trays, 2 gallon petrol cans and model railway stuff---I like narrow gauge railways and am working towards some kind of layout. Pictures to follow....sometime if interested!

Yes, pictures please! My bezzie is into all sorts of narrow gauge and miniature railway stuff and has made locos and rolling stock for a wide range of gauges. I've done a bit of fabrication for him, so have a some interest :)

Ok… so I’ve just read this whole telephone thing and was going to repeat my post from a couple of weeks back about how a forum dedicate to a single sub-model of a vehicle from an single marque could generate so many nerdy specialists…

Then you posted a picture of a thing that currently lives on top of our wardrobe. I don’t know why it’s there, it’s just is. I don’t collect them. In fact a bottle of boiling water in the bed doesn’t sit at all well with this burns victim!

I don’t have a clue about the telephones. I recognise the 1971 model from my nans house (red) and my dads house (cream) until some time into the 2000s. He had to stop using it eventually!

    I do collect guitars.

In fact I have a specific fascination with a particular sub model of guitar from a single manufacturer.
